Free Birthday Ecards - Birthday Greeting Cards

John and I visited Rachel's place yesterday. We found her mom lying on the couch. Rachel said that the doctor had asked her to take a rest. Her mom's on medication... she was feeling better yesterday than the day before. "That's good news. Are there any food restrictions?" John asked. Dr. Samuel wants her to lead a healthy lifestyle, which means she has to avoid spicy or oily foods, and junk food. Salt -- as little as possible!

"And what about her morning walk?" he asked again. I knew that he would ask some typical jock question. But that seemed like a good idea I felt. Rachel replied, "Dr. Samuel said that Mom should go for walk every morning... but this is not the right time. She's not in a condition to go out." Her condition was not as good as it seemed to be. It was just a rise in blood pressure, but it's a case complicated with cardiovascular disease. Rachel looked tremendously worried about it. She said that Dr. Samuel referred her mom to a specialist.

I told Rachel that we dropped the plan of going to South Beach until her mother is completely healthy. I will stay with her during this difficult time. "Me too", said John "as long as I'm here". Rachel smiled and thanked us. I hope Rachel's mom gets well soon! This is not a problem with Rachel's mom alone. You never know when something like this could happen in your own family. Just the thought made me miss my mother more than ever.

It suddenly reminded me of Will Rogers, who said "Mothers are the only race of people that speak the same tongue." They will always say "I'm fine dude... don't worry about me..." just to keep their kids from worrying, but I wonder! I'm really worried!

Since the day I got the news of Rachel's mom, every day turned out to be a Mothers Day for me. Each fine morning, I send a Mothers Day card to my mom and get back a bright 'Hello' in return.

I can't visit Rachel's mom every day, but I'm going to send her a "get well soon" card each morning. Click on these thumbs and check out these cards....

I knew that Christine would not go with me to pick up John at the airport. She is busy with Mothers Day preparations. She is looking for some thoughtful Mothers Day cards and sought my help to choose one for her. She knows that I'm an expert in this... I had a great surprise yesterday. I saw John after three years. I didn't recognize him at the first. He looked more hip than he was the last time I met him back in 2005. He had long hair back then that gave him a nice look. He shaved his head. He could see me amidst the mob... shouted "Hey Mike... here". We shared a big hug, which reminded me of the days when we used to win games or after a bike race. Believe me, he used to be a menace for the batters on the baseball pitch. We didn't waste time there. I helped him carry his luggage to my car and we went home.

We talked about our school days almost the entire night. Suddenly he said, "Mike, you owe me 100 bucks and you haven't paid me back. Should I compute the interest?" I didn't get him! He rolled with laughter... almost fell off the couch. He reminded me of the match we had with a local baseball club. The players were highly trained and I was much in doubt whether we would be able to win. I was sure that we would lose the game. John was confident enough and we made a bet. John's confidence was probably one of the most significant reasons why our team never lost. I had to lose the bet. Yes... I now remember, I still owe him $100. That's another good reason to party. Sounds crazy, but I am always looking for reasons to party. "Do you want that money or something more, John?" I said. I told him my plan to go to South Beach. He was overjoyed. "That's more precious than money... when are we going? Who else is going with us? Any chicks?" he asked. I told him about my crush on Christy. I couldn't keep this secret love story a secret any longer... I disclosed to him everything and expressed my eagerness to take Rex, Uncle Fred with Elsa, and obviously Christine. Rachel is joining us too.
