Have you ever thought of a Birthday on Oktoberfest? Just imagine how the bash would go with a birthday celebration on Oktoberfest. Wait a bit... let me tell you about the bast that I and my peeps had this weekend! Yes... time was frozen with fun for a couple of days; it stood still and those fifteen naive souls were totally enslaved by beauty and tranquility broken by sounds of water splashes every now and then.

We had a long drive out to the Miami Beach. We've been planning a drive out for some time but time was not allowing us to make things happen. Lastly, this weekend revealed tons of opportunities to get washed away by waves of fun! I didn't take my Ford, I wasn't feeling like driving. All I need to do was to enjoy the world running backward, paving the way for us to rush forward, away from the hectic schedule of life. We rented an SUV. John has always been a crazy guy. He hardly cares about beauty that this planet offers for us to enjoy! He has always been the first one to step into the discussion, whenever it came to driving - be it a short or a long drive! This time we can't ignore the call of the beach. We drove out to Miami beach and had really a gorgeous weekend after a long span of time.

When the sparkles of the fun is still glittering in our heart, I got another big chance to make another real blast this Oktoberfest. It's Alec's birthday on September 20th and I got an opportunity to manage the party. I've planned to make it a two-in-one celebration, an Oktoberfest birthday party! I have planned to make it a beer party too. Alec has a bit higher budget, and he's planning to throw a big party. I'm planning to hold the part alfresco, as they make it in Munich. The guests should rock around with the German tunes and they will be given kazoos to play along. There will be some large kegs of German beer and they are going to be served with some traditional German dishes.

I am sure, their appetites will be magnified multiple times with the yummy smell of springerle in the crisp autumn weather; we need to go overboard while planning for the quantities. I have already collected a springerle rolling pin, although its pretty tough to find these days. There's going to be another dessert recipe out of an old Betty Crocker cookbook dated 1969 - Strawberry Bavarian Cream. I am sure this is going to be a great fun for Alec and his guests. Let's see how the birthday bash goes. Wishing you guys a very Happy Oktoberfest.

Hey... guess what!! September 9th is Hot Dog Day... the time of the year that leaves us with an opportunity to celebrate the yummiest food. And, just imagine if it your birthday on Hot Dog Day. I am sure people who share their birthday with this big day are really lucky... so are their guests too! and the special thing about the day is that it's also the birthday of Michelle Williams, who is known as bad girl Jennifer Lindley on Dawson's Creek.

I don't know anyone whose birthday is on September 9th - the Hot Dog Day; nor I got any event to manage that day yet. But I am sure I could have created a perfect blast on the dinner table if I could get a chance to manage a party on Hot Dog Day.

Hey... the good news is that our party is almost fixed! People who know me and my peeps know this very well that they won't be able to find such crazy party animals like us! We just wait for opportunities for parties and we try not to miss a single opportunity. Time's not always the same. With the passage of days we are getting more and more involved with life's more serious matters, which sometimes becomes constraints for us to party!

This time we are going to have the party on Friendship Day - August 3rd... this weekend. The good news is that we don't need to take a day off. Rachel told me that she's going to give us a surprise! What can it be other than some special recipes? I am sure because she gave us a surprise with the most delicious Cherry cheesecake on Christine's birthday party at South Beach . Christine said she's going to bring the party wines for us! She said, she can get us the Wild Bunch California White 2004 at much lower cost. I like it. The flamboyant flavors of pineapples, peaches, honey, and some other fruits make the wine taste really awesome and refreshing! With the most aesthetic flavor, Wild Bunch California White 2004 can tango with the Latin rhythm... trust me I know because I had this a couple of time before!

I'm really expecting a rocking party. We're saving a lot of money on renting a hall. Uncle Fred's backyard is a perfect spot to party the day long! But folks... I'm sure some of you are also planning a party this Friendship Day, be it just for celebrating this great event or to celebrate your Friendship Day birthday party! Hey... Have you ever thought of a birthday party on a special occasion? I'm sure many a times you have such 2-in-1 birthday invitations! Yes... my friend Rachel was telling me about a birthday party that she had a couple of years back at when she went to meet her sister at Frankfurt.

It was really a perfect blast because the party was actually arranged on Friendship Day, although the birthday was a day before! Just imagine how the birthday bash had been! The party floor was decorated with all yellow flowers and strippers, creating an ambiance that could hold the true spirit of friendship day celebration! Starting from the birthday decoration to everything there could be no better way to add a special fervor top the birthday party than that, said Rachel.

I couldn't resist my temptation to express my eagerness to create some magic on the special day - the Friendship Day (August 3rd). "Why can't we arrange for a similar blast?", I asked Rachel. She jumped up with surprises - as if she got a news of winning a lottery! I'm on a mission to create a blast this Friendship Day...

I had a day off yesterday. I enjoyed some really delicious dishes with my parents. My father's a good cook too. I knew I was good at cooking, but, I remember when I was a kid, Dad was always the first one to step into the kitchen. He is good at it. We enjoyed Dance Like a Chicken Day (May 14th) very much. Well, the entire day was really refreshing... at least I didn't have to go out to the hospital yesterday. Rachel's mom is quite well now. Rachel's now free from stress, too.

I called Christy and invited her to lunch yesterday. I figured she wouldn't come because she was tired, but she turned up. "What are ya planning to do now?" Dad asked me. "Oh I want to have a nap." Christine suddenly stared at me... as if I had said something that wasn't expected. Naturally, Dad rolled with laughter. He'd wanted me to share my plans for the future. I shared my dream with Dad about owning my own restaurant. Christine was so keenly eager to listen to that! I knew that it might sound a bit too fancy for a Texan guy like me, but I had to share my thoughts. I work as a Staff Supervisor in a restaurant here at Miami, but I couldn't resist my temptation to talk about my plan and that, too, before Christy. I'm learning about wines and how to run a big restaurant with a reputation to keep. I'm researching on what people are looking for and what to offer to them to make them keep coming back. I told dad that I want to own my own restaurant... maybe a chain across America, especially near the beaches.

Christy seemed so excited. "And have you decided on a name... Mike?" She asked me. I haven't yet but a lots are floating around in my mind, for instance "Mike's", just like "Azule's Cuisine". Visit again... it's just a small part of my total project plan!

Hey! I just want to show you something. Soon after Christine went, I sat before my computer to know exactly when John's flight is going to land. I was planning to call Christine... I wanted to take her along to pick John.

I was looking for the flight schedule at Miami International Airport, when I suddenly wanted to check my mail box to see if there was anything in there. It's a Pen Friends week! Yes! There was something from Christine. It was a beautiful card that says some really touchy words. Check out what she sent me. It's really awesome and I'm sure this "I Am Sorry" ecard will melt the ice. I really liked the way she approached me, although there was nothing to feel sorry like that. I enjoyed it... I was really happy to know that she wanted to surprise me and wanted to celebrate Chocolate Custard Day together with me!

Hi friends! The wait is over. Today's Christine's birthday and I'm ready with her birthday gift. It's still not the time to reveal what I have for her. But I'm sure she will be delighted with surprise as soon as she would get it. My gift will surely reminded her of our first meeting, when she was staring at the dolphins at Miami Seaquarium, lost in thought. She was probably thinking of having one as a pet. I am just waiting for the moment to come when I will be at her doorstep with the gift. I'm really longing to see her bursting out with surprise with my gift in her hand. I am also eager to know what Rachel is bringing for her. She's supposed to create a special birthday recipe for Christine.

I need to freak out for the party as soon as possible; I want to be the first one to knock her door and shower her with all my good wishes this special day. There's another reason why I'm in hurry. We are going to drive out to South Beach. A party with the energy and dynamics of South Beach is going to be full of enthusiasm and that's what we are looking for.

I gotta go now... just stay tuned to know how Christine's birthday bash turns out.

Juan and Pablo, the two strange guys had won over my heart on Thanksgiving 2006. Yes, they came a long way from Spain to visit their relative and I couldn't understand how slowly yet deeply we became friends -- better to say "GOOD FRIENDS". My gang and I had a real blast on Thanksgiving 2006 with these two Hispanic guys. Days passed by since then we didn't have even a telephonic conversation. And this the time we all are missing Juan and Pablo.

Would you call this to be a power of friendship or the call of the souls? Right when I was deeply in the thoughts of those golden moments that we spend together with Juan and Pablo, my phone buzzed all on a sudden. I was really struck with great surprise to hear Pablo's voice on the other end. He wanted me to share the special moments with him on his birthday on the New Year's eve.

It was really an awkward situation for me although I have always wanted to go the Juan's place and have a break for a couple of weeks. But flying off to Spain at this moment is really tough for me as I'm not financially strong enough to bear such a big expense. It's going to be a perfect blast in the New Year birthday party of Pablo and it's hard to miss it also. All I need to do is to make him understand my condition. Probably wishing him Happy New Year is the first step to melt the ice. Wish him a Happy Birthday may be the second step. I'm really worried if this would work at all!

Strike your guests with with sudden surprise with the Jamaican Jerk Burger. Celebrate your birthday and the Labor Day with this YUMMY exotic dish. And its really very easy to make it. Here's how ....

Ingredients:

* 1 pound ground meat (better combination of turkey and beef 60%,40%)
* 1/2 small orange
* 1 piece peeled ginger(1/2-inch in length)
* 3 fresh jalapeño chiles, stemmed and seeded
* 2 peeled cloves garlic
* 2 trimmed green onions
* 2 teaspoons allspice
* 1 teaspoon extra virgin olive oil
* 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
* Nutmeg (little less than 1/4 teaspoon)
* 1/4 teaspoon dried crushed thyme
* 2 teaspoons brown sugar
* 1 teaspoon soy sauce
* 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
* 1 tablespoon dried bread crumbs

Direction:
Step 1- Peel of one tablespoon of orange zest from the orange skin.
Step 2- Finely chop the orange zest, ginger, jalapeños, garlic and green onions in formed in a food processor to make it a paste.
Step 3- Add the juice from the orange half and the Worcestershire sauce, cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, brown sugar and thyme. Mix it well to.
Step 4- Place the bread crumbs and the meat in a mixing bowl and add the the blended mixture and mix it well into the ground meat.
Step5- Shape the mixture into 4 patties and cover and refrigerate for an hour to allow the flavors to blend. The patties will also get to firmed by this time.
Step 6-Form the meat into patties and rub the outer part of the patties with the olive oil and soy sauce.
Step 7- Grill it until the smell comes and the thing turns golden brown.

This serves four. Serve as you would any burger, with condiments, buns and lettuce etc
