I begin from where I left off yesterday. Birthday gift wrapping is fun and you can also involve kids who often end up coming up with amazing and very creative ideas. Here are some more ideas that will make gift wrapping a joyful experience.

Basic Bow
Required:
Spool of wired ribbon, Scissors, Pipe cleaner

Fold ribbon back, making strands approximately 7 inches long, or another desired length. Fold until there are three loops on each end. After the final loop is made, bring the ribbon to the center of the bow and curl around in a loop in the center, leaving a tail hanging downward. While still holding center loop in place, insert a pipe cleaner into the center loop and around to the back of the bow, tying in place. Trim the ends at an angle and shape each bow loop uniformly.

String and Tiny Trims
Keep a box of colored twine, string, or ribbons to use on small gifts. Embellish the boxes even more by gluing on miniature trees or tiny wooden cutouts from a craft store.

Quick Sparkle Wraps
Give the birthday gifts a special shine with glitter. Glue on shaped glitter or sprinkle it into a clear cello bag, right along with your gift. Sheer ribbon or tulle complete the look in any color or style you prefer.

Natural Gift Wrap:
You can collect natural leaves and glue them on a white sheet of wrapping paper. Add some lovely colorful flowers to the same and then wrap the gift with this beautiful natural gift wrap.

Photo Gift Wrap
Turn family photos into gift wrap for small packages. Arrange the color snapshots on a piece of 11 x 17-inch white paper and tack them in place with loops of adhesive tape. Copy the collage on a color copier as many times as desired for gift wrap. (Remember to choose the 11 x 17-inch paper tray when you begin copying.)

Jewelry Wraps
Required:
Wrapping paper in a solid color or small print, Tape, Ribbon, Scissors, Brooch

Cover a gift box with wrapping paper. Using a long length of ribbon, place the center of the ribbon vertically at the point where you want the ribbons to intersect on the front of the gift box. 2. Bring the ribbon tails around to the back of the package. Twist once and bring the ribbon ends horizontally around to the front. Knot the ends and trim the tails if needed. Pin a floral brooch to the knot in the ribbon.

Skip the Wrap

The fastest way to present a gift is to skip the wrapping paper altogether. This is the best solution for large items or gifts such as plants and flowers. Add a bow and gift tag and you're done

Names all come from a meaning and they come from somewhere. Not everyone remembers the meanings though, or really cares. We tend to just think of the names nowadays. That doesn't mean naming can't be fun. Almost anything can be a the perfect name if used correctly. Sometimes a little tweaking with a few letter changes and syllable alterations may enhance it. This article will help point out some sources of names to consider when trying to be creative for your future baby.

Flowers and Plants

While names like Rose and Lily may be common, and Holly and Daisy not too far off, there are thousands of other flowers out there just waiting to be picked. Flowers like Aster, Hawthorn, Gladiolas, Jonquil and Orchid.

Along with flowers, many plants have been used as names in the past. Some examples include Willow, Sequoia, Oakley, and Ash. Though they are all wonderful names, none of the three are really common names. Other beautiful trees and plants that are worth considering and playing around with are Azaleas, Birch, Cypress, Zelkova, and Vibernum. There are also fruit trees such as Apple, Cherry, and Peach, which have on occasion inspired a few names.

Gemstones

Gemstones have a beauty both in their look and in their name. One of the most obvious ways of helping them be associated with a name is choosing the birthstone of the baby's month as a name. Garnet for a January baby, Amethyst for a February baby, and so on. Because they are very common and already known words, they'll be unique but not too strange that it might be confusing for some to pronounce or spell, as is how some newly created names can be.

There are also many other gemstones out there besides the birthstones, and any gem can be used for a baby's name in any month. There is no rule to limit only babies in the month of October can have the name Opal.

Mythology

Mythology has a great and diverse range of words and names to play around with. Most obvious is the names of gods and heroes to choose from. Looking at Greek mythology as an example, anything from Zeus and Hera, to Apollo and Rhea, to Argos and Pandora can be a refreshing revival of the classical names.

Along with actual names of gods and heroes, there are the different types of beings to be inspired by. For example, there are the nymphs and their many types like Auloniads, Oreads, Naiads, Dryads, Nereids and Lampades. There were also Satyrs, Elves, Giants, Gnomes, Amazons, etc. These creatures were sometimes even monsters, like the Leviathan, or Chimera, or Typhon, or Cerberus. While these might not be ideal names at first glance, they may grow in liking, and by playing around with syllables and spelling can become original and respectable names to have.

Locations

A trend in naming that dates back before most can recall is being inspired by different locations around the world. The possibilities are endless, including everything from continents to countries to cities and even regions. Specific geographical locations, like names of mountains, seas, rivers and lakes, can also be unique and fun to play around with.

Sometimes these places have a deeper meaning for the parents. It could be where they first met, where they proposed, where they got married, their favorite vacation spot, their dream location, their homeland, where they were born, etc. Using these places as names or inspiration for names for their children add a nice personal touch.

Colors

Colors are some of the most used ways of expression in the world, from writing to art to everyday use. Why should names be any different? Not only do the words of color paint a visual image, they give a feeling, an expression, a meaning.

Simple examples like Red, Orange, Blue and green may not have quite the effect and may be a bit lackluster for some. There are still plenty of other descriptive and poetic words for colors, though. Reds can be Carmine, Cerise, Scarlet, or Vermilion. Orange as Coral and Ginger. Yellow can be Amber or Ivory. Green can be Jade, Sage, Viridian or Willow. Blue can be Azure and Beryl, Cobalt or Teal. Purple can be Lavendar, Violet, Orchid. Even white and black can be interesting, with names like Pearl, Ash, Sable, Onyx and Ebony.

There are many other inspirations and word groups out there to draw from and help name your child. Whether it be an animal, a star, a zodiac sign, a favorite food or song, a movie character or novel character, a color, gem or flower, there is a whole world of creativity out there. Common names are fine and can be quite beautiful, but naming your child something unique can say a lot more than the actual word.

6. The Color Gray-All shades and tones; this shade's used as a monochromatic color scheme.

7. Understated-Tailored smart suits, trouser suits, the "class" or "high society" look. Hot colors here are gray and golden camel. A "must have" item are elbow-length leather gloves or gauntlet gloves (for three-quarter length sleeves). The key word here is "understated"; no obvious flashing of wealth.

8. Military-Napoleonic-styled jackets, greatcoats, and coats with high-stand collars (lots of buttons).

9. Urban Warrior-Street styles; Gray and other soft somber shades will be the hot colors. Fur-trimmed, luxury parkas and feather-weight down jackets will be a hot seller. Biker jackets and body-conscious dresses will also be popular.

10. Country-Not cowboy boots and western wear, but rather "out on the country estate" or "foreign village" look. Craftsmen knits, mini-shrugs, and elongated cardigans in luxury yarns will be "in". Cables and Austrian-style knitwear, mixed with fabrics and furs, will also cross over to accessories through hats to bags. Textured knits, tailored tartan tweeds, and the equestrian
(horse rider) look will also be hot. Black and white, charcoal/cream/gray mixes, and the color purple will be IT.

Just a few weeks remaining before your teen turns 18 and heads towards college. For them its scary but exciting as well. Time for you to start making plans to celebrate their birthday in a style they will remember and cherish forever.
For an all guys’ party, a local sports court would make a great party place. If all your guests are crazy about sports, organize a match with prizes at the end.

Create a children’s birthday party for these soon to be adults. Rent a bubble machine, a fog machine and a bouncer for them. Organize a few contests say with paddle balls, or a bubble gum blowing contest. You can even arrange for sack races or musical chairs. Blow up balloons, tie them to the their ankles and ask them to burst each other's without using their hands. Stack your table with lots of hot dogs, hamburgers, chips, cheese strings and so on.

If it is an all girls’ party, with only the friends of the birthday girl, a salon party would be ideal! Take the girls for a beauty massage, spa and make over session before they enter college.

Set up an Italian theme- Transform your patio into an Italian cafe. Rent four round tables and white bistro style wrought iron chairs, cover the tables with red and white checkered table cloths andlay white square linen on top. Place a small crystal bud vase with a red rose and votive candle on the tables. You can also arrange for some statues and columns to place around the edge of the patio. • Sixteen Candles (1984): The quintessential, absolute, number one birthday movie. Molly Ringwald's sister is getting married, and everyone forgets her 16th birthday. Anthony Michael Hall, in his first role, makes the movie. Very, very funny stuff.

• On Golden Pond (1981): It's Henry Fonda's birthday, or at lest it will be soon, and his wife, played by Katharine Hepburn, intends a nice celebration. But the best laid plans .... Jane Fonda, Doug McKeon and Dabney Coleman round out the cast. Great performances by Fonda and Hepburn make this an always worthwhile watch.

• Cat on a Hot Tin Roof (1958): Elizabeth Taylor, Burl Ives, and Paul Newman star in this adaptation of the Tennessee Williams play about ungrateful children convening for a less-than-happy birthday party for their father. If you haven't seen the play, see the movie.

• The Shootist (1976): John Wayne's last movie, and in my view one of his best. Wayne plays an aging and infamous gunman who learns from his doctor (Jimmy Stewart) that he is dying from cancer, and wants to make his last days in the rooming house run by Lauren Bacall as dignified as possible. An all-star tribute cast (Richard Boone, Hugh O'Brian, Harry Morgan, and the official director of the Hugh Hewitt Show, Ron Howard) make this movie very special.

• Sleeping Beauty (1959): One of Disney's best animated films. So what is it doing on this list? Well, if the three fairies could have hidden her past her 16th birthday, Maleficent's curse would have never come true. But then neither would the study Prince Phillip.

• The Game (1997): Not all birthday presents are happy, either. Michael Douglas stars again, this time as a wealthy man given a strange birthday present by his brother, played by Sean Penn. Or is it a present? A very good watch, all things considered.

• Falling Down (1993): Not all birthdays are happy. Michael Douglas's turn as a frustrated, unemployed defense worker trying to get through LA traffic to go to his daughter's birthday party is edgy and more than a little bizarre.

• City Slickers (1991): Billy Crystal is under-employed, divorced and unhappy. But at least he has good friends -- Daniel Stern and Bruno Kirby -- who are willing to go with him on a dude ranch birthday gala. A fine, funny movie.

• Parenthood (1989): Okay, so it's primarily a movie about parenting. But what's being a parent without birthday parties? Steve Martin's courageous save of said party when the scheduled entertainment fails to show up is a classic.

• Boys in the Band (1970): Not exactly a movie for everyone, but it certainly is a birthday movie!

My grandmother's birthday is on Valentine's day, so first of all I would like to wish her a very Happy Birthday.
